Arroyo Grande Community Hospital
Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH) is a full service, general, acute care, medical-surgical facility located in the heart of San Luis Obispo County. Established in 1961, this 65 bed hospital serves residents in the southern San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County.
On June 1, 2004, AGCH was acquired by Catholic Healthcare West (CHW), making it a faith based, not-for-profit hospital. Since that time, AGCH has installed new top of the line equipment in its operating rooms, added a third operating room, added new state of the art equipment in radiology, new patients beds and has remodeled the inpatient and outpatient lobbies. AGCH has also expanded its orthopedics surgery program which supports the county’s best orthopedic surgeons. Additionally, AGCH has a team of Hospitalists who are available for inpatients’ needs 24 hours/ 7 days a week.
We have also created the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation that works with community members and local organizations to raise funds to further improve the hospital. The Foundation recently raised the funds to build the AGCH Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center located at 921 Oak Park Boulevard in Pismo Beach. AGCH is also the majority owner of the leading outpatient surgical center, the Coastal Surgical Institute (located next to the Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center in Pismo Beach. Currently the AGCH Foundation is raising funds for to maintain our beautiful new Healing Garden and to expand our Emergency Department, one of the busiest ER’s in San Luis Obispo County.
Arroyo Grande Community Hospital has also taken a more active role in the community offering free health education opportunities for the general population, senior population and the underserved.
