Bacon lovers have the perfect event to attend this weekend. On July 14th, Liquid Lunch host Adam Montiel chatted with event organizer Holly Holliday about Saturday's Bacon and Barrels, an outdoor festival dedicated to everything bacon and spirits.
The event, which started Friday night with a VIP dinner, kicks off at noon Saturday at the Madonna Inn Meadows and wraps on Sunday. Bacon and Barrels will feature more than 30 local chefs and mixologists preparing their most unique recipes and drinks revolving all around bacon.
"We have some amazing dishes coming out this year," said Holliday, who also hosts a show with Montiel on Coast 104.5 FM.
Bacon and Barrels will feature the most imaginative bacon dishes such as bacon waffles, bacon chips with chocolate bacon sauce, and even Chef Jeffry's famous mac and cheese with bourbon braised bacon. On top of that, some of the best mixologists, brewers, and wineries on the Central Coast will be there preparing their own bacon inspired cocktails and brews for attendees to sample. Everyone at the Bacon and Barrels festival will be polled on which chef and mixologist they loved the most, and the winner will be awarded the coveted People's Choice Award.
Tickets for the Bacon and Barrels festival are close to selling out. There are only about 100 general admission tickets left, so any bacon and spirits lovers should head over to their website (baconandbarrels.com) and purchase tickets today.
