On today’s Liquid Lunch, the Cork Dorks were joined by good friend Edgar Torres of Bodega de Edgar. Edgar’s wines have become increasingly more and more appealing and as you follow the story of Edgar, his hard work, his struggles and his journey, it puts a depth to his wine you can literally taste. The last few years for Edgar were one of focus l, dialing in his craft, his brands and his commitments. He’s focusing on Spanish varieties and started a serious relationship with Paper Street Vineyards.
The wines we tasted included a Tempranillo/Grenache blend titled, ‘Toro de Paso’, his play on a Priorat wine named, ‘Priorato’, which is 90/10 Carignan/Syrah, and ‘Tarragona’, which is a 70/15/15 blend of Garnacha/Carignan/Tempranillo, all from Paper Street which is in the Willow Creek sub AVA of Paso Robles.
Bodega seems Edgar will roll the curtains back on a new tasting room, and winery February 2020.
